About Me

I have been a member of the Orthodox church since 1988.  This blog is a humble effort to make canons available to my English-speaking brothers and sisters.  The canons of the church have a rough lot in this world.  Some are simply untranslated from Greek.  Others are available only in prohibitively expense service books.  Still others are in fact very accessible but translated alarmingly badly.  A final and unfortunate class are both alarmingly bad and prohibitively expensive.
I hope that these canons which you read on this blog are accurate and readable; they are already free.  Some day I will put them in a cheap, little e-book for convenience's sake.
The Greek of the canons on this blog has been edited by a gentleman I dub My Esteemed Editor--a graduate student of Classics, whose background in epigraphy is particularly helpful; the English of these canons has been meticulously thrashed into shape by my charming and lovely wife.  Any blemishes which remain are all mine.
